Bonus video post today! This post features a video and brief explanation on how to obtain the Guild Wars 2 Shattered Ice Ruins Achievement in the Level 70-80 zone Frostgorge Sound. This is on the upper end of the zone, so the recommended Level to do this is 80. Or maybe less if you bring some friends along.

There’s minimal fighting required to get through this jump puzzle, though I guarantee you’ll have an easier time jumping around in there if you take the time to clear out the obstacles.
 
Start off at the Ice Floe Waypoint, and make your way eastward through the Shattered Ice Floe’s wide passage filled with bulky Frost elementals. Dive into the water and hug right. Swim below to enter an underwater path that leads to the jump puzzle. You’ll know you’re in the right area if you see Skale, Ice Trolls, and Blue Blobs.
 
Follow the trail guarded by several Ice Trolls and ascend upward through the ruins. I recommend killing the first set Blue Blobs because they shoot projectiles that are super annoying.
 
The Ice Trolls on the other hand are completely optional. It helps a great deal if you have a run speed boost like I used in the video – you can just zip past most obstacles before they become a threat. There are a few scary jumps, but nothing that’s really threatening. If you fall, just do it over again.
 
Once you get past the Veteran-level Blue Blob, tightrope-walk along the chains near it to get to the next platform. From there, jump across the short divide over to the next platform away from the Blue Blob, to enter a circular stairwell that houses a Veteran-level Ice Troll. Fight the Troll or run, either way you must ascend the broken stairwell by jumping upon various steps and rocks.
 
Once you’re at the top, claim your achievement and the loot within the nearby chest. Tada! “Shattered Ice Ruins” complete!
