Loot Crate April 2013 Contents
Hooray for Loot! This month’s theme was “token” and contained a bag of goodies intended to bring back some nostalgia from the good ole’ arcade cabinet days. Read more to check out what was in this month’s crate (images included). Unfortunately official Loot Crate membership cards did not make it in this month’s crate, but will arrive in the next crate coming May 2013.
Just in case you forgot, Loot Crate is a monthly gift box subscription service that caters to geeks and gamers. For under $20 a month (shipping already included), you get a mystery box with a different monthly theme, containing goodies ranging from apparel and accessories, to fun things like figurines, plushies, and edibles you might not have known existed. As of this post, Loot Crate only ships to the United States and Canada.
Below you’ll find pictures of the contents of April’s “token” box.
The box is opened! As usual, the card insert is the first thing to see. Obviously, if you want to enjoy the surprise of opening up a loot crate, you probably want to put it aside for now. Behind the card insert is an orange bag, containing this month’s loot.
Mario Kart inspired drawstring cinch bag. I’m not really a fan of orange, but it’s fairly sturdy and can hold a decent amount of items without losing its structural integrity. I could see myself putting some groceries in it, or maybe use it to carry my snacks when I go to a convention.
Overview of the items inside the Mario Kart bag. Two mystery packs with Street Fighter goodies, Mini Burger chewy candy, Root Beer barrel hard candy, a collectible Space Invaders tin with candy, and a collectible brass arcade token.
The two big items from this crate: the Street Fighter Blind Box Mini Figurine, and the Street Fighter Blind Bag Enamel Key-chain. The Mini Figurines came in approximately twenty different varieties, with some rarer than others (like Vega and M. Bison). I got Blanka, which is appropriate considering I was fighting Council of Elders last night in WoW.
Closer up view of the Space Invaders collectible tin. It opens up from the bottom, so don’t be a noob like me and fiddle around the top. Inside, you’ll find sour-apple candies with invader imprints on them. Nom nom nom!
Summary card describing the crate’s contents. Sorry about the flash in the middle, you’ll have to live with it as I am far too unmotivated to re-upload a new photo. You might have also noticed there was a “KEEP THIS COUPON” ticket in the Loot Crate. Those are for the upcoming prize drawings happening May 1st through 7th.
And there you have it, April’s “Token” box revealed! You aren’t normally able to purchase Loot Crate boxes that have already shipped out, but they do sometimes offer surplus sales, provided they have any left in stock. Subscribe today to become a fellow looter!
